Welcome to DK Leadership – a global leadership coaching company. Our purpose is developing great leaders in organizations and families.  We help organizations increase engagement, motivate performance and build energized cultures. And we help families with their relationships, confidence and personal goals. Our sweet spot is teaching practical tools to drive communication, productivity and time-management while reducing stress (also known as EQ skills).

Dr. Karyn is an entrepreneur, #2 WALL STREET JOURNAL & USA TODAY bestselling author, CEO of DK Leadership, a leadership & relationship expert, entrepreneur, dynamic speaker, executive and family coach, TV personality (Good Morning America | USA and Cityline | Canada) and author of the bestselling leadership book “The Three Chairs: How Great Leaders Drive Communication, Performance & Engagement”. In 2021, she was nominated for the 29th annual RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award. 
Motivational Speaker & Professional Counsellor
A dynamic motivational speaker and powerfully effective coach, Dr. Karyn has delivered over 1000 keynotes to more than ½ million people. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, family businesses, government agencies, entrepreneurs, educational schoolboards and professional organizations (representing doctors, surgeons, dentists, lawyers, judges, accountants, engineers and many more occupational groups).  A professional coach for over 20 years – she has applied her highly strategic solution-oriented approach to great success with both organizations and families. Her wealth of experience in both corporate and family cultures gives her refreshing insight into how leadership tools can impact both professional and personal performance levels.
Educational Background & Media Spokesperson 
With a Doctorate in Marriage & Family and certifications in Leadership and Emotional Intelligence, Dr. Karyn was invited to collaborate with professors from The Wharton School to develop an EQ training curriculum specifically for family businesses. John Prato, The Consul General of Canada in New York, hosted a reception honoring her work with New York families and organizations. Over the years, she has served as the media spokesperson for Loblaws, Maple Leaf Foods, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, eHarmony and UNICEF.
Philanthropy & Research

Dr. Karyn is passionate about giving back!  She partnered with World Vision to build a new school in Haiti and every year sponsors speaking events for schools.  Her work was the focus of a research study with McMaster University and MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions to teach her 5 Leadership EQ Skills™ to young people transitioning out of homelessness. The outstanding findings showed that her students had a “significant improvement” in “self-esteem and purpose” after learning her tools. This confirmed her philosophy, which is that we can all learn great leadership skills if we have the hunger to grow.  Passionate about empowering others, in 2018 she started a partnership with Covenant House to create affordable housing for youth transitioning out of homelessness. 
Personal Passions

Dr. Karyn lives in Toronto with her adored husband (and business partner) of 20 years and twin 13-year-olds, plus their two high-energy puppies.  Striving to live what she teaches, she aims to work smart and play hard! She loves her downtime at their family cottage, playing tennis, paddle-boarding, skiing, and relaxing with her girlfriends.  Decorating is also a personal passion and real estate is a side hustle. Three of her properties have been featured in national design magazines (House & Home, Chatelaine) and she is currently finishing “Shiloh: Muskoka Leadership Retreat” a unique 9-acre modern farmhouse retreat on Lake Joseph ideal for hosting families, forums and teams on their leadership journey. She is dedicated to understanding the power that environment, nature and organization can have on overall emotional well-being.
