Before The Event

#1:  Watch For An Email With Your Workbook And Zoom Registration Link

The email will be sent to the email address you used for registration, and will be sent from our event coordinator, tifani@dkleadership.org.

This email will contain a downloadable pdf workbook, and you can print out copies for everyone who is participating in your household. This will be your personal guide to follow along with the course, as well as to record all of your work.

The email will also contain a link for you to register so you can join us online on the day of the event.

Please note: We have limited spaces available for this event, and each household that registers will only be permitted to have one connection through Zoom. Please submit your registration as early as possible so we can approve it!

If you have not used Zoom before, you may be prompted to download the Zoom software onto your computer.

#2:    Stock Up On Magazines & Creative Supplies

We will be kicking off the morning with a highly creative activity of making a personal “Vision Board”. It’s important that you have A LOT of magazines (10-20 if possible) that each person who is participating likes to read (Ex. Teen People, Sports Illustrated, Vogue etc.). If you don’t normally collect magazines, try asking friends or neighbours, or buy them if necessary, but older magazines are preferred for this project since it will involve ripping out photos and headlines/words that you like.

For this creative activity, you will need the following supplies:

  • 10-20 magazines that you can rip apart (ideally with lots of great pictures)
  • 2 x scissors
  • 2 x glue-sticks
  • 2 x 8×10 frames(this is recommended but not required)
  • 2x Pens, 2 pencils & 2 erasers
  • Coloured construction paper
  • Several highlighters and/or markers

(Note: Given current limitations on shopping and potential supply issues, we understand that it may be difficult to get new magazines at this time – old ones will work just fine! Also, if you prefer to do this step as a “digital” project, many students have done this by copying and pasting images from online sources onto a document page, to be printed out later).
